In 2000 I purchased a very beat up store copy  of Mondino's self-titled book and it changed everything. Before then, I thought of photography in relation to Ansel Adams and photojournalism, but nothing like this. I enrolled at Brooks Institute of Photography in 2003 with only a few coffee table sized photo books. When I graduated I had over 50.

I saw these images a few years ago while living in Los Angeles. M+B Gallery has a wonderful selection of photographers and has always inspired me whilst in a dry spell.

These images from photographer Sally Mann are some of my personal favorites. My step sister introduced me to her work when she shared a copy of her book, Immediate Family.  Her work inspired me more than any other photographer and gave me the motivation to develop my own style.

I love this song and the video is wonderful. There is an alternative version of the video that you can see here but I'm partial to this one.

Today's inspiration comes from photographer Yulia Gorodinski who is currently residing in Israel. Her self portraits are stunning and inspiring to say the least.
